Activity Participation Waiver

I acknowledge that participation in the Silent Climb event carries with it the potential for, but not limited to, bodily injury. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by action of other people, and actions of myself. I hereby assume all the risks of participating in the Silent Climb.

In consideration for participating in the Silent Climb for my own personal benefit, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors and assigns, to:

1. Waive, release and discharge WMU, its elected and appointed officials, employees, students, volunteers, and any other person affiliated with WMU from any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, or actions of any kind that may arise as a result of my participation in the Silent Climb event;
2. Defend, indemnify and hold harmless WMU, its elected and appointed officials, employees, students, volunteers and any other person affiliated with WMU from any and all liability or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of or relating to my participation in the Silent Climb;
3. Have been informed that I am not required to participate in the Silent Climb as part of any University-required or University-sponsored activities; and
4. Acknowledge that any University personnel who are participating in this activity are doing so voluntarily, in their personal capacities, and not as employees of or arising from their official University duties.

I hereby certify that I am of legal age and have read this document and understand and agree to its terms and content.
